The Roma Tre University was founded in 1992 and is the youngest public University in Rome. It comprises 12 Departments, offering courses for the Bachelor Degree in 33 different disciplines, 44 courses for the Master Degree, and a number of postgraduate programs including PhD, and specializations. More than 40000 students are currently involved. UR3 is represented in AERIALIST by the Department of Engineering, founded in 2012 by joining the former Departments of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Informatics and Automation, Applied Electronics, and Civil Engineering. Its own origin ensures the highest level of multi-disciplinarity, and the capability to address all the technology challenges associated to a broad range of applications. The Department is heavily involved in the research projects funded by the EC within the FP7, Clean Sky and H2020 programs. The internal staff that will be part of the AERIALIST research unit has a long expertise in the management of European Projects, from the early BRITE/EURAM programs, to the most recent FP7, Clean Sky and H2020.
